Central Night Shelter

The Central Night Shelter is a volunteer-governed shelter located jointly in the gymnasium of Central Presbyterian Church (capacity of 65-70) and the Church Hall of the Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (capacity of 25-30). It is supported by volunteers and staffs of Central and the Shrine.

The shelter is open seven nights a week, beginning at 7 p.m., from November 1 to March 31. Guests are offered a hot meal, safe place to spend the night, medical and foot care, and the fellowship of volunteers.

Throughout each shelter season, individuals, families, and other groups from Central volunteer to prepare and serve dinner, have fellowship with guests, provide lunches, and stay overnight. Contact Wills Moore for more information about volunteering.

Guests are referred to the shelter through the Gateway Center and its Client Engagement Center, located at 275 Pryor St. SW Atlanta, GA, 30303.

Program admission is open Monday – Friday at 7 a.m. and operates on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please note, the church offices at Central Presbyterian Church cannot assist with night shelter questions or contact volunteers. The Central Night Shelter operates independently of the church.

If you are a shelter guest and need to contact the shelter, call the Gateway Center at (404) 215-6600 and tell them you are a guest at Central Night Shelter. Likewise, if you need to contact a guest of the shelter, please call the Gateway Center.
