You may want to make a charitable gift to Central but believe it is possible only for those who have more wealth. Or, you may want to give but don’t believe you have the skills or interest to sort through all the options and their fit with your charitable and personal goals. The Planned Giving Committee at Central has additional information that may be helpful to you, as well as experience that it would be happy to share.
At your request, a member of the Planned Giving Committee would be pleased to visit with you personally and confidentially about gift opportunities beneficial to you. We also encourage you to consult your financial advisor to learn more about the specific advantages of any gift you may be considering.
Contact the church offices or a member of the Planned Giving Committee for more information.
There are several ways to plan your charitable gift to the Church.
Gifts of Securities
Under the current tax code (IRS Publication 526) you can donate unsold securities directly to charitable organizations. Your gift can be applied to your Annual Stewardship pledge; or you may also direct the gift to other CPC ministries. Please note that the Central OAC and Central Night Shelter are separate 501(c)3 organizations; donations should be made directly to those organizations.
The advantages of donating securities are:
o You can avoid capital gains taxes and receive a current tax deduction.
o You transfer the cost basis and unrealized tax liability on the securities to Central Presbyterian Church; CPC does not have to pay taxes on the gains when we sell the donated securities.
o You will get a tax deduction for the full market value of your gift Stock Transfer Instructions

Giving Through Your Will
Charitable bequests are joyful statements that celebrate your commitment to the Church and to the work of the Kingdom of God. In some instances, these gifts may also produce sizeable savings in income and estate taxes.
In making a bequest in your will to Central Presbyterian Church, you may:
- Designate a specific dollar amount
- Designate a percentage of your adjusted gross estate, such as 10 percent
- Designate a specific security or item, such as 100 shares of stock
- Establish a Testamentary Trust with income retained for someone you name
